Marimekko’s Tanja Orsjoki is a young promising designer with a lot of talent. Her vibrant floral “Kuusama” pattern was a Master’s degree project at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Her own yard and nature gave her inspiration for this delicate floral composition, and photographs and direct scans of living plants were used to accomplish the pleasing design. The orange-red honeysuckle blossoms with mauve leaves outlined in black and orange stems stand out beautifully against the fuchsia red background.
